Class Philosophy
I try to create a relaxed class environment for math discovery.  I use the term "discovery" because students do more than just drill.  I have many activities to foster investigation and curiosity.  Students will also have to work in groups and collaborate.  I believe that the end result is a more interesting class and improvement in their critical thinking skills.
Class Procedures
Grades are comprised of 40% tests, 30% quizzes, class participation 15%, and 15% homework.  Homework may seem like a small portion of the overall grade, but it is important to keep current with your homework.  I give frequent quizzes, which will be difficult if the homework is not completed.  Some of my quizzes can be taken with the aid of homework and notes.  Poor notes and homework effort will show up here.
